Ashburton is open for business

On November 5th 2020, the UK Government announced a new series of measures aimed at helping slow the spread of Coronavirus in England. The measures have affected local high streets in many small towns and cities across the South West.

Whilst this is a difficult time for independent retail, Ashburton is still alive and our local independent traders are working harder than ever, to ensure they continue to serve their local community. By offering their products online, via The DON (a mobile ordering platform) and offering click and collect services, there is no greater time to shop and support local.

Once again, many of the towns cafe's and restaurants have adopted or created a new offering to become takeaway establishments (in line with the Government guidance), open various nights of the week to make sure the town can feast on an array of food offerings from pizza, burgers, fish and chips and Tapas.

Our town shops, deemed as essential are continuing as they did before to offer the best of local shopping and produce through our local butchers and green grocer, the Spar and Co-op are stocking up on the essentials and our deli's and specialist food shops continue to offer food to delight the pallet and please the soul.

Of course, the Post Office and Pharmacy continue to work hard for the town providing the essential services during this difficult time.
